
Elizabeth “Diane” (Burk) Daugherty, 71, of Osgood, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Diane was born on Saturday, October 23, 1954, in Cincinnati, the daughter of Albert Lawson Burk and Minnie Frances (Folenious) Dixon.
Diane was married to David Daugherty and they shared 40 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. Their life together was built on years of laughter, strength, and love of traveling and family gatherings. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, creating a life filled with family and memories that will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew them.
Diane was a devoted stay-at-home mother who also provided loving care to many families as a day care provider. Once her children were grown, she worked as a cashier at Huck’s in Batesville.
Diane was known for her outgoing, bubbly personality and her genuine, caring heart. She loved volunteering and helping others whenever she could. She cherished the holidays, delighted in baking her famous sugar cookies, enjoyed dancing and traveling, especially to the beach. She loved family time above all else and prioritized her family over everything. She loved her pets and was known for generously providing veterinarian care for strays.
Diane will be deeply missed by her son Joseph (James Bishop) White of Cincinnati; daughters Michelle (Ryan) Loutner of Westport, Rhonda (Kevin) VanSickle of Westport, and Renee Demaree of Versailles; son-in-law Ty Demaree of Versailles; brother Albert (Roseanne) Burk Jr. of Moores Hill; sister Deborah (Richard) Lane of Dillsboro; grandchildren Anna (Damen) Martin, Cameron (Miranda) VanSickle, Gavin Ellis, Carter VanSickle, Kylie Demaree, and Kinley Demaree; and great-grandchildren Ella Martin, Elliott Martin, Everett Martin, and Grayson VanSickle.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Daugherty, mother Minnie “Frances” Dixon; fathers Albert Lawson Burk and Dewey Dixon; and granddaughter Sophie VanSickle.
Family and friends may gather to remember Diane from 2:00–5:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church, 9813 Mt. Sinai Rd., Aurora, IN 47001. Services will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Burdsall officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Sinai Cemetery immediately following.
Memorials may be given in Diane’s honor to the Ripley County Humane Society.
