Abigail Rose Hensley, 23, Cherished Daughter of Emily (Ralph) Stenger and Denver (Jessica) Hensley, passed away on April 2, 2026.
Born on September 12, 2002, Abby grew up in Dearborn County. She attended South Dearborn High School, where she proudly graduated in 2021 with academic honors, and also became a highly decorated athlete. She attended Franklin College (Franklin, IN) where she was a member of the 2021-22 soccer team before transferring to Indiana State University.
Abby will be remembered by her community for her big, bright smile, her contagious laughter and her ability to make everyone feel accepted and welcome.
In addition to her parents, Abby is survived by her five siblings; Samuel, Eli, Aliysha, Denver and Braylin. Her maternal grandparents, paternal grandmother, 14 aunts and uncles, 16 cousins and a large extended family, spanning five generations.
Abby was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Denver Hensley Sr., her uncle, Jay Westfall, and her lifelong friend, Bryce Valdez.
To celebrate Abby’s beautiful spirit, a remembrance ceremony will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Hamline Chapel, 102 W High St., Lawrenceburg, IN 47025. Prior to the ceremony, the family will welcome guests for a time of visitation beginning at 4:00 PM. Immediately following the service, guests are invited to join the family for a reception at The Captains Tavern.
