In a four-way junior high track and field meet on Monday, Southwestern won the girls race with 78 points, followed by St. Louis (52), Rising Sun and South Ripley (tied-45), and Milan (seven).
For the Cardinals girls team, Reagan Siefert placed fifth with 24’4″ in shot put. Reagan Siefert and Halle Meyer tied for first and second with 4’0″. Lucy Brelage placed second in long jump with 12’4″ jump. Halle Meyer placed second in hurdles with 21:14. Claire Baker placed second in the 100 meter with 14.42 seconds. Isla Padgett placed fourth in the 1600 meter run with 6:42. Girls 4×100 meter relay placed third with 62.26 seconds consisting of Claire Baker, Halle Meyer, Reagan Siefert, and Lucy Becker. Isla Padgett placed fifth in the 400 meter dash with 76 seconds. Halle Meyer placed fourth in the 200 meter dash with 32.4 seconds. Addy Wuestefeld placed third in the 2400 meter run with 11:13. The 4X400 meter relay placed second with a time of 5:07 composed of Isla Padgett, Lucy Becker, Lesley Nuñez, and Claire Baker
Rising Sun took the boys meet with 90, followed by Southwestern (64), South Ripley (48), St. Louis (28), and Milan (18)
For the Cardinal boys, Ross Lieland placed second in the shot put with 30’6″. Ben Kranz placed fourth in the high jump with 4’2″. Nicholas Lieland finished fourth in the long jump with 13’3.5″ Salvador Schutte placed fifth in hurdles with 23.72 seconds. Simon Brelage placed third in the 1600 meter run with 6:15. Salvador Schutte placed sixth in the 1600 meter turn with a time of 6:32. The boys 4×100 meter team placed fourth with a time of 62.31 seconds composed of Ross Lieland, Ethan Dierckman, Isaac Nuñez, and Nicholas Lieland. Jordan Brelage placed fourth in the 400 meter dash with 72 seconds. Simon Brelage placed fourth in the 800 meter run with 2:55. Isaac Nuñez placed fifth in the 200 meter dash with 34.49 seconds. Blaise Frey finished third in the 2400 meter run with a time of 10:12 and Salvador Schutte placed sixth with a time of 11:37. The boys 4×400 meter relay placed fourth with a time of 4:52 composed of Jordan Brelage, Nicholas Lieland, Ross Lieland, and Ben Kranz.
