Mr. Gary Wood Hardin

Mr. Gary Wood Hardin, age 57, of Patriot, Indiana, entered this life on June 15, 1968 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Willard Delbert and Margaret Marie (Holland) Hardin. He was raised in Maysville, Kentucky and attended Deming High School in Robertson County, Kentucky. In 1987, Gary and the family moved to the Patriot, Indiana community. He was united in marriage to Theresa “Terry” Dillsboro on July 28, 1989 in Gallatin County, Kentucky and they were blessed with a daughter, Amanda. Gary and Sue Williams were later blessed with a daughter, Raeleigh. Gary was later united in marriage in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Melissa Harding and they were blessed with a son, Jacob. Gary spent several years in Sevierville, Tennessee, training horses for Denver Parton, and also worked in construction, helping build several log cabins. He was later employed for Harrison Ironworks in Harrison, Ohio for a few years. He was also employed for Swiss Caps in Patriot, Indiana for several years and attended the Patriot Baptist Church. He enjoyed horses, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and drinking a beer with his family and friends. Gary passed away at 7:14 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Gary is survived by his companion, Julie Caudill of Dillsboro, IN; his daughters, Amanda Hardin of TN, and Raeleigh Phillips of Lawrenceburg, IN; his son, Jacob Hardin of Lawrenceburg, IN; his step-daughter, Sunshine Carpenter of Lawrenceburg, IN; his several grandchildren; his sisters, Vickie Ware and her husband, Jessie of Patriot, IN, and Tonya Tucker and her husband, Pat of Mays Lick, KY; his brother, Shawn Hardin and his wife, Wendy of Anderson, IN; his uncle, Timothy Hardin and his wife, Becky of Maysville, KY; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Delbert Hardin, died December 18, 2006; his mother, Margaret Marie (Holland) Hardin, died October 20, 2007; his grandson, Emmett Walline Ware Phillips, died March 3, 2024; his nephew, Brandon Don “Mater” Tucker, died October 21, 2015; his great-nephew, Abel Logan Tucker; and his several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
