Brenda Carolyn Martin (nee Short), age 76, of Milan, Indiana passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, April 05, 2026, at Hospice of Cincinnati. Brenda was born on April 8, 1949, in Lackey, Kentucky, the daughter of Has B. and Floys Short (nee Reynolds).
She was mostly raised in the Indiana community of Manchester and spent many of her adult years also living in that area. She attended Manchester Grade School, then graduated from Aurora High School in 1967. After high school, she worked at Cochran Chair Factory in Aurora. In 1979 she began an enjoyable and dedicated 45-year career working in various office positions at Stedman Machine Company where she retired from in 2025. She was a member of the Milan American Legion Auxiliary Post #235.
Brenda is survived by her two children, Tom (Leslie) Robbins of Noblesville and Becky (Keith) Robbins of Milan; three sisters, Merlene (Danny) Baxter of Moores Hill, Paula (Ron) Clements of Milan, and Cathy (Lisa) Short of Berea, Kentucky; one aunt, Betty Miller of Vandalia, OH; five grandchildren, Tim, Wesley, Carly, Annie and Tanner; four nieces and nephews, Doug, Danielle, Jessie and Will; as well as a host of cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Rhonda; and two nephews, David and Dennis.
Those who knew and loved Brenda will greatly miss her. In honoring Brenda’s wishes, cremation was chosen. For family and friends that wish to honor Brenda, a celebration of life will be held at a future date. She will be remembered at Little Memory Church Cemetery in Sunman.
