(Batesville, IN) – Dr. Katy Eastes says she’s settling in to her role as Batesville Community Schools Superintendent.
“Just one month in, in my time here, my first and foremost role is to understand what’s already happening at Batesville Community Schools, and so, I’ve been doing a lot of visiting the schools, listening and learning and studying as much as I possibly can,” said Dr. Eastes.
She says she’s trying to find her “on ramp” when it comes to her role with the Bulldog Ready initiative.
“I have a three-day time period next week where I’m meeting with the Ford NGL coaches who have been working with Batesville, to really strengthen my understanding of Bulldog Ready and what our next steps for that are,” said Dr. Eastes.
She was hired in January to replace Paul Ketcham, who stepped down after nine years as Batesville Schools Superintendent to become the State of Indiana’s Assistant Secretary of Education.
Superintendent Eastes came to Batesville from New Palestine Community Schools, where she served for 27 years in roles ranging from classroom teacher to assistant superintendent.
Dr. Katy Eastes appeared on Wednesday’s edition of The Daily Pod.
