The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Reds 8-3 in a game from downtown Cincinnati heard last night on WRBI. Brandon Williamson made his first appearance on a Major League mound in two years and struggled, giving up six runs including three homers, and six hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Williamson missed all of last year while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Elly De La Cruz and Sal Stewart hit back-to-back home runs in the 8th inning. Oneill Cruz homered twice for the Pirates. The rubber match of the series is this afternoon and it will feature a marquee pitching matchup. All Star Lefthander Andrew Abbott starts for the Reds.
