(Greensburg, IN) – Access to care is one of the most important parts of maintaining health. From scheduling appointments to reviewing test results, patients rely on convenient, easy-to-use tools to stay connected to their care.

At Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH), a refreshed patient portal launching April 2 is designed to make managing health information simpler, more intuitive, and more accessible for patients across the community.

The updated portal will maintain the same login and app patients already use, while introducing a cleaner, more consistent experience across both mobile and desktop platforms. A new dashboard with a calendar view allows patients to see upcoming appointments at a glance, while improved navigation and enhanced search features make it easier to find messages, visit summaries, and important health information.

Lab results, diagnostic reports, and care instructions are also presented more clearly, helping patients better understand their health and next steps. Additional updates focused on accessibility aim to ensure more patients, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, can use the portal with ease.

Alongside these improvements, DCMH is expanding self-scheduling capabilities to give patients greater flexibility in planning their care. Patients will soon be able to self-schedule screening mammograms through the portal, in addition to existing options for Family Medicine appointments and scheduling ahead with the Immediate Care Clinic.

This added convenience allows patients to schedule important preventive care on their own time, without the need for a phone call, helping remove barriers to timely screenings.

“Making care easier to access is one of the most meaningful ways we can support our patients,” said DCMH Lead Mammography Technologist Jessica Hunter. “By expanding self-scheduling and improving the overall portal experience, we’re helping patients take a more active role in their health.”

For many patients, having the ability to quickly schedule appointments, review results, and communicate with their care team in one place can make a significant difference in how they experience care.

The addition of mammogram self-scheduling is especially important, as regular screenings play a critical role in early detection and improved outcomes. By making it easier to schedule these appointments, DCMH aims to support more patients in prioritizing their health.

The refreshed patient portal will be available beginning April 2, 2026.
