Ivy Tech Undergoing Statutory Overhaul

(Statewide) – Ivy Tech Community College is undergoing a statutory overhaul with the signing of a new law updating its mission and governance structure.

The updates in Senate Enrolled Act 254 are part of a broader effort to align education with workforce demand and strengthen Indiana’s education and workforce system.

One of the legislation’s co-authors was State Sen. Jeff Raatz (R-Richmond-SD 27), whose district includes part of Franklin County.

Ivy Tech is Indiana’s largest public postsecondary institution.

It plays a central role in the state’s workforce pipeline and aims to up-skill or re-skill more than 82,000 Hoosiers annually through credentials and training aligned with employer demand.

Ivy Tech operates locations in Batesville and Lawrenceburg.
