No Injuries in Lake McCoy House Fire

(Greensburg, IN) – The cause of a house fire at Lake McCoy on Thursday afternoon is under investigation by the Greensburg Fire Department.

Crews were called to 638 Boulevard Drive around 3 p.m. and found heavy flames coming from the home.

Fire Chief Nathan Stoermer says the house was a county-declared blighted property that had a lot of junk and debris on-site, which made firefighting efforts dangerous and difficult.

Firefighters were on the scene for about three hours and used more than 20-thousand gallons of water to put out the flames.

There were no injuries reported.

Other responding agencies included the New Point and Napoleon volunteer fire departments; Decatur County EMS, and the Decatur County Crisis Intervention Team.
