Mrs. Sharon Kay Abplanalp Turner

Mrs. Sharon Kay (Abplanalp) Turner, age 63, of Florence, Indiana, entered this life on October 15, 1962 in Batesville, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Carl Edward Abplanalp and Wilma Louise (Woodruff) Sherman. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and attended school in Rising Sun, Indiana. Sharon was united in marriage to Stevie Lynn Turner, Sr. on October 30, 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This happy union of over 47 years was blessed with four children, Louise, Stevie, Jr., Jesse, and Jessica. Sharon was formerly employed for Rising Sun Canning Factory and later stripped tobacco for a local farmer. She was a member of The Refuge Pentecostal Church in Carrollton, Kentucky. Sharon was a devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her family. She found great joy in cooking, playing bingo, tending to her garden and canning its harvest, and most of all cherished every precious moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. Sharon passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at her residence.

Sharon will be missed by her husband, Stevie Lynn Turner, Sr. of Florence, IN; her daughters, Louise Turner and her companion, Leslie Cunningham of Patriot, IN, Jessica Payne and her husband, Jerry of Patriot, IN; two sons, Stevie Turner, Jr. and his wife, Lesa of Hanover, IN, and Jesse Turner and his fiancée, Caity Peaslee of North Vernon, IN; her grandchildren, Ethan Cunningham, Hannah Prather, James Cunningham, Landon Cunningham, Stevie Turner III., Aiden Turner, and Stella Turner; her great-grandchildren, Cedar and Timber Prather; her brothers, Marlin (Margie) Abplanalp of Patriot, IN, Mark (Cheryl) Abplanalp of Rising Sun, IN, and Jeff Powers of Aurora, IN; her sisters, Carrie Dowd and her husband, Michael of Patriot, IN, and Charlotte Dews and her husband, Bobby of East Enterprise, IN; and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Edward Abplanalp; her mother, Wilma Louise (Woodruff) Sherman; her step-father, Ernie Sherman; her maternal-grandparents, Wilford and Viola (Mitchell) Woodruff; her brother, Harry Abplanalp; her sister, Pamela Sue (Abplanalp) Dews; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Dews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Patriot, Indiana.
