Cynthia A. (Knecht) Ross, 66, of Milan passed away Thursday, Feb 19, 2026 at St Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
Cindy was born the 8th of 9 children to Stanley and Margaret (Vogelsang) Knecht on December 21, 1959. She married Ralph Ross on May 9, 2003 and he survives.
She was a talented cosmetologist who at one time owned her own salon, Tansmissions, in Penntown.
Cindy was incredibly spiritual, always optimistic with a quick wit and sense of humor. All tremendous traits that carried her through her many battles with cancer. She was a true survivor that made others laugh and feel at ease.
She enjoyed playing board games, cards and games on her phone. Scrabble and words with friends being some of her favorites. Most of all she enjoyed the love of her dogs and family.
She is survived by a large and loving family who will always miss her. Sisters Bertie (Larry) Bauman of Sunman, Connie (Bill) Wintz of Batesville and sister n law Cathy Knecht of Sunman IN. Brothers Gary (Beverly) Knecht and Mark (Melanie) Knecht of Greensburg IN. In laws Norma and Robert Sydron, sister n law Janice Ross and brother n law’s Ronnie, Robert and Randy Ross. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Margaret Knecht. Sisters, Betty Dunbar, Rita Kramer and Marilyn Weller. Brother Aloys “Butch” Knecht and brother n law’s Melvin Dunbar and Alvin Kramer.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be given in honor of Cindy to St Jude Children’s Hospital or to the family.
