Sports Daily Digest February 21, 2026

Class 3A #10 Batesville held off  Jennings County 60-52 in high school basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Bulldogs’ Kamryn Holcomb led all scorers with 21 points, including five-for-five from the free throw line. Brayden Maple added 15 and James Hughes contributed 13 points. With the win on Senior Night at the Dawg Pound, Batesville improves to 18-3…Jennings County won the JV game 65-49. It’s the only the second loss this year for the Batesville JVs.

In other action last night, Class 1A #3 Hauser stopped Milan 76-48; Oldenburg Academy got past Rushville 45-42; North Decatur crushed Southwestern (Shelby) 58-21; and South Dearborn turned back Lawrenceburg 58-32.

Coming up tonight, Jac-Cen-Del heads east to face Milan. Coverage begins around 7:15 on 103.9 FM and the WRBI App…Elsewhere around the area,  South Ripley pays a visit to Greensburg, and South Decatur entertains Brown County.

Boys basketball sectional pairings will be announced tomorrow night. You can hear it on the Sports Voice via the IHSAA Champions Radio Network from 6-8 p.m.

The Washington Wizards knocked off the Indiana Pacers 131-118 in NBA action last night. It was the second loss for the Pacers to the Wizards in back-to-back games. Jay Huff led Indiana with 22 points. The Pacers return home tomorrow to face the Dallas Mavericks.

In college basketball, #7 Purdue rolled over Indiana 93-64 at Mackey Arena. The two teams split the season series, with each winning at home. The Boilermakers improve to 22-5 and 12-4 in the Big Ten while the Hoosiers drop to 17-10 and 8-8…And it was Akron 78, Ball State 65…

Coming up this afternoon, Butler welcomes Xavier to Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The Cincinnati Reds open Cactus League play this afternoon against Cleveland in Goodyear, Arizona. Chase Burns is expected to make the start for Cincinnati. WRBI airtime is 2:50.
