Mr. Robert Clinton “Bob” “Bobby” Hon, age 89, of Versailles, Indiana, formerly of Switzerland County, Indiana, entered this life on March 23, 1936 in Warsaw, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Luther Martin and Jessie Allen (Ellis) Hon. He was raised in Switzerland County and attended the Quercus Grove United Methodist Church. Bobby graduated from Patriot High School, class of 1955. Bob was inducted into the United States Army in 1958. Bob was united in marriage on June 5, 1960 to Caroline B. Weller at the Bennington United Methodist Church. This happy union of nearly 66 years was blessed with three children. Bob was employed part-time for Rotary Lift in Madison, Indiana. He was later employed in 1956 for Seagram’s Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, retiring in 1991, after 35 years of service. Bob resided in the Versailles, Indiana community for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Bennington Community Church in Bennington, Indiana. Bob was also a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union Local #13D. Since 1996, Bob and his wife resided in the Versailles, Indiana community. He enjoyed playing horseshoe and basketball, as well as, riding his bike around town, and collecting treasures. Bob was very adventurous and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather. Bob passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Caroline B. (Weller) Hon of Versailles, IN; his sons, Anthony Clinton Hon and his wife, Suzanne of New Alsace, IN, and Todd Alan Hon and his wife, Sandy of West Harrison, IN; his daughter, Lisa Renee Costello and her husband, James of New Washington, IN; his grandchildren, Bryan, Stacy, Kelly, Jamie, Jessica, Colton, Abby, Ashly, and Alex; his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Sawyer, Carter, Teagan, Blake, Hunter, Quinten, Luke, Hadlie, Hazel, and Raynie; his great-great-grandchildren, Blakelynn, Oaklynn, and Ella; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Martin Hon; his mother, Jessie Allen (Ellis) Hon; his infant brothers, Joe Elmer Hon, Robert Earl Hon, and Nelson Lee Hon; his brothers, Luther Martin Hon, Jr., Louis Martin Hon, James William Hon, Maurice Edward Hon, Russell Ray Hon; his sisters, Helen Louise Smitha and Hazel Marie Hunt; his special aunt, Deliliah Rice; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Calvis and Eliza Detraz (Rice) Weller; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Paul Higbie and Mary and Ova Kelly.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, by Rev. Mike Jones, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment and full military rites will be conducted by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
