Mrs. Bonnie S. (Hunt) Stewart, age 94, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on October 26, 1931 in Muncie, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late William Grant “Bill” and Viola Elizabeth (Stegall) Hunt. She was raised in Muncie, Indiana, and was a 1949 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Bonnie was united in marriage to Louis Bradford Stewart on October 3, 1953 in Muncie, Indiana. This union of over 43 years was blessed with a daughter, Linda, and a son, Michael. Bonnie was employed as a line worker for Butler Furniture for several years. She was also employed in the meat department for Marsh Supermarket in Muncie, Indiana, for five years. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. Bonnie passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at her residence in Madison, Indiana.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Linda Jones and her husband, Lary of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Carrie Kurdys of Berkley, CA, Chris Kurdys of Madison, IN, and Kathy Welch and her husband, John of Fairview, IN; her great-grandchildren, Autumn Kurdys of Bedford, KY and Carly Chandler and her husband, Dylan of Cross Plains, IN; her great-great-grandchildren, Trevyn Bailey, Kayden Amy, Creed Amy, Ella Chandler, Lincoln Chandler, and Emily Chandler; her brother, Donald Hunt of Muncie, IN; and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Grant “Bill” and Viola Elizabeth (Stegall) Hunt; her husband, Louis Bradford Stewart; her son, Michael Louis Stewart; her sisters, Doris Jean (Hunt) Schock and Margie Ruth (Hunt) Hickey; her brothers-in-law, Derald Schock, Merle Harvey Norton, and Gerald E. Hickey; and her sister-in-law, Beverly L. (Kennedy) Hunt.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2026, at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
