(Greensburg, IN) – The Decatur County Youth Sports Complex earned two honors from the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), in recognition of an exceptional 2025 season,
The complex was named the 2025 Indiana Park of the Year by Indiana USSSA and recognized by USSSA C League as the 2025 Park of the Year this month. Officials say both honors highlight Decatur County Parks & Recreation’s commitment to providing high-quality facilities, well-run tournaments, and a positive experience for athletes, families, and visiting teams throughout the season.

USSSA organizes large-scale tournament play in baseball, fastpitch, and softball. Indiana USSSA Softball and USSSA Baseball, through Ohio Valley Sports, committed last year, and for the next four years, to bringing a minimum of 15 tournaments annually to the Decatur County Youth Sports Complex.
The Indiana Park of the Year award recognizes parks that exceed expectations. Parks are evaluated for this award based on maintenance, amenities, organization, partnerships, and community impact.
Last year, Parks & Rec added more tournaments to the schedule compared to previous years, and was the only park to host and complete all 24 scheduled events.
The relationship and partnership built with USSSA was a primary factor in this success. Guests consistently enjoyed the Youth Sports Complex, and as a result, it received a significant portion of the user vote.
The complex has undergone major improvements in the past year, primarily aimed at positioning it for success. Funded by ARPA, Decatur County Redevelopment Commission (RDC), Decatur County Parks & Recreation, and Greensburg RDC, the park now has eight turf baseball/softball fields, with a second concession stand projected to be completed by April of 2026.
“I am deeply grateful to our park maintenance team for their weekly preparations, the project implementers, our concession staff, Indiana USSSA, and our county and city officials who believed in this vision,” said Decatur County Parks & Recreation Recreation/Sports Coordinator, Rob DeHoff. “I also highly appreciate our internal team and board for their continued trust and support. Above all, I thank God for His guidance throughout this journey. To everyone who played a role, please accept my heartfelt gratitude.”
“Being named the 2025 Indiana USSSA Park of the Year is an incredible honor for Decatur County Parks and Recreation. This award reflects the hard work of our staff, the support of our community, and the commitment we’ve made to providing first-class facilities for our youth and families. We’re proud of what this complex represents and grateful to everyone who helped make it possible,” said Chris Noblitt, Executive Director of Decatur County Parks & Recreation.
The Decatur County Youth Sports Complex has played a vital role in youth development throughout the community for years. Not only does it support our local youth, but it also supports the area’s economy. Last year, Decatur County saw a large visitor impact with over 133,900 visits from the complex. Local businesses say they are already experiencing increased sales as a direct result of this growth.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, there are 33 tournaments on the books, ranging from local to statewide. With USSSA’s continued commitment, along with strong vendor partnerships, Parks & Rec will continue to renovate and enhance the complex.
Planned improvements include upgraded Bluetooth scoreboards, expanded and enhanced concession offerings, an additional concession area with new restrooms, increased parking, more shaded seating areas, and digital menu displays that also provide new marketing opportunities.
New ideas are welcome to ensure every visit to the complex is welcome and enjoyable for all visitors. Decatur County Parks & Recreation says it looks forward to continuing to work with Indiana USSSA this year and in the future.
