Six area players were named to the ORVC 2025-26 All-Conference Girls Basketball Team, as voted on by conference schools head coaches. They are Tinley Enneking and Brooklyn Simon from Jac-Cen-Del; Millan’s Emma Voss; and Kaiya Rinear, Claire Samples and Aubrey Werner from South Ripley. The Raiders’ Brad Goldsberry is one of the conference’s Tri Coaches of the Year. The award winners will be recognized at the ORVC Winter Sports Banquet on Tuesday, March 10 at Switzerland County High School.
The Indiana Pacers edged the Brooklyn Nets 115-110 in NBA action heard last night on the Sports Voice. Jarace Walker tossed in a game-high 23 points for the Pacers, who rested several front-line players on the second night of a “back-to-back” on the road. The Pacers have won two in a row heading into the All Star break. They return to the court a week from tonight at Washington.
Phil Krueger, a veteran of two Indianapolis 500 starts, died Monday in Indianapolis. Krueger competed in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” in 1986 and 1988. His best finish was eighth in 1988, when he completed 196 laps. He also qualified a “500” career-best 15th that year. Phil Krueger was 74.
