(St. Leon, IN) – The Batesville High School girls swim team wrapped up the 2025–26 season Saturday at the IHSAA Sectional at East Central by finishing ninth overall with 81 team points.

Batesville’s depth in the relays carried the scoring load throughout the meet. The Bulldogs opened the finals session with an eighth-place finish in the 200 medley relay, as Samantha Adams, Alexis Schiller, Cora Miller, and Reillee Adams combined for a time of 2:12.13.

The team’s top finish came in the 200 freestyle relay, where Samantha Adams, Reillee Adams, Emma Miller, and Cora Miller placed fifth in 1:52.41, earning 28 team points.

Batesville closed the meet with a ninth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. The quartet of Briley Broshears, Emma Miller, Katelynn Fullenkamp, and Alexis Schiller posted a 4:24.99 to round out the team scoring.

Individually, freshman Alexis Schiller led the Bulldogs with two scoring swims. She placed 10th in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.27) and 14th in the 200 individual medley (2:36.73).

Sophomore Cora Miller also scored in two events, finishing 15th in the 100 freestyle and 16th in the 50 freestyle.

The 2025–26 Bulldogs featured a young roster, and the season showed steady progress across multiple events. By championship time, Batesville scored in all three relays and placed swimmers in the top-16 individually, a strong indicator of depth and development.

Several athletes recorded notable time drops from their early-season swims to their championship performances:

  • Alexis Schiller (FR): Improved approximately 4–5% in the 200 IM over the course of the season while scoring in two individual events at sectional.
  • Emma Miller (SO): Dropped roughly 4–5% in the 500 freestyle and became a key contributor in the team’s middle-distance and relay lineups.
  • Reillee Adams (SO): Improved more than 5% in the 100 breaststroke during the season.
  • Samantha Adams: Cut over 3% in the 50 freestyle and contributed to two of the team’s three scoring relays.
  • Cora Miller (SO): Improved around 2–3% in the 100 freestyle while scoring in two individual events at sectional.

Throughout the season, the Bulldogs relied on versatility and relay cohesion to stay competitive. The team showed consistent progress in stroke technique, pacing, and race execution, culminating in a strong sectional performance.

With several underclassmen scoring at the championship meet and gaining valuable postseason experience, the Bulldogs finish the year with a strong foundation for future success.
