(Southeastern IN) – Genesis: Pathways to Success celebrated one year as a standalone nonprofit at a joint ribbon cutting conducted Monday by the Batesville and Ripley County chambers of commerce (pictured).

“It’s always been the long term vision of the Ripley County Community Foundation Board of Directors for us to have our own wings and fly from the nest and we’re finally here, and to have one year under our belt is really exciting,” said Genesis Executive Director Clarice Gordon.

Genesis partners with employers, small businesses, educators, government, and local organizations to create programs aimed at strengthening Southeastern Indiana’s economy and inspiring the next generation.

The organization was established in 2007 and outgrew the community foundation’s vision and mission statement.

Genesis achieved independent nonprofit status on January 1, 2025.

“There’s so much potential here at Genesis. The staff and the board of directors and the volunteers and the community partners who are involved so, we’re excited to see what’s ahead,” Gordon added.

Genesis’ office remains at 13 East George Street, Suite B in downtown Batesville next to the community foundation.
