(Bright, IN) – At least 1,300 homes and businesses in Bright were without power for much of Saturday after a truck took out four utility poles in the area of Salt Fork and One Mile roads and left the scene.
The outage began shortly after 1 a.m. and it took until around 3:45 in the afternoon before Duke Energy and Southeastern Indiana REMC crews were able to restore power to affected customers.
Roads in the area were closed, and residents of one subdivision couldn’t get in or out because of downed power lines.
The Bright Fire Department offered to take residents with medical issues to the hospital if they called 9-1-1.
Everything reopened late Saturday afternoon.
