
Leona Fuchs McCann of Dover, IN passed away on January 20, 2026 at 95 years old. Born in Yorkville, she moved to Dover when she married Russell on April 11, 1953. She raised four children and was a doting mother and grandmother. She loved to cook, bake, and sew. Leona was so talented that she made all of the children’s clothing, including their Halloween costumes and Easter outfits. Leona also embroidered items and helped make quilts for the summer church festivals. She enjoyed playing cards and working in her garden, tending to the beautiful flowers she grew year after year. She was a member of All Saints Parish Ladies Sodality and Dover Homemakers Club.
Leona will be greatly missed by her husband of 73 years, Russell, and children Dianne (Dave) Kuhn, Robert (Anna) McCann, Darlene Werner, Sharon Haney; sisters Thelma Johnson and Mildred Gensheimer; 11 grandchildren, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother Norbert Fuchs, sister Alice Fuchs, brothers-in-law Ray Gensheimer and Chuck Johnson, and son-in-law Alvin Werner.
Services for Leona will be on Wednesday, January 28 at Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home. Rosary will begin at 9:15 followed by visitation until 11:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00pm at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Memorials in Leona’s honor can be made to All Saints Parish and will be accepted at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home.
