Boosters Receive Grants, Host Showcase

(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Music Boosters have been awarded a $4,000 Arts Project Support (APS) grant from the Indiana Arts Commission to support the administration of the 2026 Singers Showcase show choir invitational.

In addition, the Music Boosters have been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Ripley County Community Foundation to upgrade musical equipment that will be used for both show choir and band performances.

Arts Project Support grants from the Indiana Arts Commission fund short-term public arts projects or a series of arts activities designed to strengthen access to the arts in Indiana communities.

The Ripley County Community Foundation 4th Cycle Small Projects Grant provides funding for up to $1,000 to assist local organizations with needs that arise during the calendar year.

Singers Showcase is a one-day show choir competition designed to jump-start the show choir season by providing schools with valuable early-season feedback. Groups will be judged on vocals and choreography, followed by an in-depth clinic. Awards will be distributed for the top contenders in the following divisions: Univoice, Middle School, Festival, and Champion. Judges will also provide individual critiques for students who participate in the solo competition.

The 2026 Singers Showcase will take place Saturday, January 31 in the Batesville High School auditorium, and will welcome 22 choirs from across the region. The BHS Singers will perform an exhibition set to close the evening.

Doors open at 7:30 a.m. with performances beginning at 8:00.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under.

Food vendors will be available throughout the day. Guests are encouraged to bring cash.
