In the second game, Batesville knocked off Jac-Cen-Del 66-49. The Bulldogs improve to 8-1 while the Eagles fall to 3-6. South Ripley and Batesville will meet for the Ripley County Tournament championship for the fourth straight year on Saturday night.
St. Louis boys basketball dropped two at Greendale last night. It was the 7th grade Tigers over the Cardinals 38-16. Greendale won the 8th grade tilt 54-20. Cam Walke led St. Louis with 10 points.
North Decatur 8th grade boys basketball hammered Tri 40-4. Troy Brown led the 11-1 Chargers with 10 points.
In college basketball last night, the Indiana Hoosiers took care of Maryland 84-66 in College Park. It’s the Hoosiers’ first road win of the college basketball season. IU was led by 24 points from Lamar Wilkerson, and Tayton Conerway added 19. The Hoosiers are now 12-3 on the season and will return to Bloomington on Saturday to face #10 Nebraska.
The 5th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers had to navigate some foul trouble, but they came away with an 81-73 win over Washington last night. Head coach Matt Painter says it was not the Boilers’ best game defensively. Braden Smith only played 28 minutes to due to foul trouble, but he still scored 23 points. The Boilermakers are now tied for the lead in the Big Ten, and they will face Penn State at Mackey Arena on Saturday.
