Shirley Jean Moore, age 76 of Richmond

Shirley Jean Moore, of Richmond, Indiana, was born on November 21, 1949, in Batesville, Indiana. She was the cherished daughter of Clyde “Jack” T. Milbourn and Daisy E. Dean (née Carey). Although Shirley chose to leave high school prior to her graduation, she later returned to complete her GED at the same time her son Smokie graduated high school in 1987. A true testament to her determination and quiet strength, her dedication was an inspiration to her class. She had worked at Design and Manufacturing (D&M) for many years followed by her employment at Kemper for several more years before she had to medically retire. Shirley married the love of her life and soulmate Willard H. Moore, Jr., on November 11,1967 in Laurel, Indiana, and together they created a loving family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a big heart and always wanted those around her to feel loved and special. Shirley was a force of nature, a source of guidance, and the heart of her family. Her strength and grace inspired all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, and her memory will live on. On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 76, Shirley passed away surrounded by her loved ones at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana following a brief illness.
