(Sunman, IN) – A tip about a man with multiple outstanding felony warrants led to his arrest on Saturday night.

Kenneth Powers III was taken into custody at a home in Sunman.

When Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home, there was no answer from anyone inside.

While deputies attempted to serve the outstanding warrants, they started to develop a probable cause for a search warrant, which was granted by Judge Jeffrey Sharp.

Just after 11 p.m., Ripley County deputies, the Sunman Town Marshal and an Indiana State Police trooper served the search warrant.

Authorities quickly and safely detained everyone in the residence, including Powers.

Deputies allegedly located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia inside the home.

Powers is being held in the Ripley County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine; Maintaining a Common Nuisance (both Level 6 felonies); Possession of Marijuana (Class B misdemeanor); Possession of Paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor); Decatur County Warrant (Level 6 felony), and a Parole Warrant from the Indiana Department of Corrections.
