Class 1A #11 Oldenburg Academy edged Franklin County 49-40 in girls basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Twisters were led by Claire Niese, who scored 16 points; Rachel Suttman added 15, and Gina Grote chipped in 11. Audrey Mears led the Wildcats with 16 points and Codie Cox contributed 15. OA has won nine in a row and goes to 10-1 on the season. Franklin County drops to 6-5.

Elsewhere, Batesville topped Richmond 44-32…And North Decatur bested Waldron 40-23.

In boys hoops last night, East Central drubbed Switzerland County 66-26. The Trojans Liam Rogers led all scorers with 22 points; Cole Reynolds added 17, and Liam Coffman poured in 10.  EC squares its record at 2-2…And Southwestern (Hanover) drubbed  Jac-Cen-Del 76-38.

Batesville visits East Central in a girls/boys basketball doubleheader tonight. WRBI coverage begins at 5:45.

Elsewhere on the Saturday girls schedule, Franklin County is at Jac-Cen-Del; South Ripley goes to Class 3A #3 Greensburg, and Milan entertains South Dearborn.

In other boys games, Greensburg is at Franklin County; Oldenburg visits Rising Sun; South Decatur hops the bus to South Ripley, and North Decatur entertains Triton Central.

The Indiana Pacers look to snap their three-game losing streak tonight when they visit the New Orleans Pelicans. Coverage on the Sports Voice tips off following high school basketball.

Alabama eliminated Oklahoma in the first round of the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide will play the top-seeded Indiana Hoosiers in the Rose Bowl quarterfinal on New Year’s Day.

In the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals are in Miami to face the Dolphins tomorrow. Rookie Quinn Ewers will start at quarterback for the Dolphins after Tua Tagovailoa was benched this week.
