Diane Deaton of Aurora passed away on Wednesday, December 10. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by love, family, and faith.
A devoted homemaker, Diane dedicated her life along with husband Benny for 65 years, raising four children (Leisa, Benny, Kevin and Brad). She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Aurora, Indiana, where her faith guided her to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She also enjoyed fellowship and friendship as part of the Ebenezer Ridge Runners Homemakers Club. And you could always tell her love for line dancing by her impressive collection of western boots
Diane was known for her impeccable sense of fashion and eye for design. Diane brought beauty and sophistication to everything she touched. She turned an abandoned brick home on Hogan Creek Road into Victorian elegance.
She had a passion for crafting, especially ceramics, and spent the entire year preparing homemade Christmas gifts for her loved ones a tradition that brought her immense joy and created cherished memories. She loved hosting Christmas celebrations for her family until she and husband Benny became snowbirds, splitting time between Indiana and Florida. In Florida and Aurora, she found joy on the golf course, sharing laughter and camaraderie with friends.
Above all, Diane adored her (12) grandchildren Ashley, Cory, Kyle, Katie, Dezmen, Brandy, Jacob, Dianna, Kurt, Christine, Skylar, and Sarah and (11) great-grandchildren Harlyn, Trey, James, Rader, Colby, Asher, Scarlett, Luke, Everly, Arya, and Presley. Strong-willed yet deeply caring, she would do anything for them. Her love and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will take place at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, Aurora, IN, following a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at River View Cemetery Aurora
