Connersville defeated Batesville 49-35 in girls high school basketball heard last night on the Sports Voice. The Bulldogs fall to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the EIAC. The Spartans improve to 5-4, and 1-0 in conference play.

In other action, it was Franklin County over North Decatur 51-24, and South Decatur slid past Hauser 51-47.

Several games on last night’s schedule were postponed because of the weather: Columbus North at East Central, South Dearborn at Greensburg, and Shawe Memorial at South Ripley.

North Decatur topped St. Mary’s 49-25 in boys 8th grade basketball last night. Troy Brown led the Chargers with 15 points while Ross Gorrell added 10. North Decatur 8th grade improves to 8-1.

Weather permitting, Batesville is at Lawrenceburg in boys basketball tonight. WRBI airtime is around 7:15…Other area games scheduled for tonight include East Central at Jennings County; Franklin County at Rushville; Greensburg at Columbus North; Shawe at Jac-Cen-Del; South Decatur at Milan; South Ripley at Hauser, and North Decatur at Edinburgh. Oldenburg is scheduled to host Newport Central Catholic from Northern Kentucky in a boys/girls doubleheader.

The Cincinnati Bengals have placed defensive end Trey Hendrickson on injured reserve with a hip/pelvis injury. The move comes after Hendrickson underwent core muscle surgery on Wednesday. The nine-year veteran played in seven games this season – all starts – and totaled 16 tackles with four sacks.
