County highway, street department and INDOT snow plow drivers across Southeastern Indiana are being credited for their rapid and efficient work in improving local road conditions once the precipitation stopped falling.
Meanwhile, light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours.
The National Weather Service says this band of light snow will affect the area by the Thursday morning commute, and will eventually pushing south of the region by mid-morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces.
The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Meteorologists say motorists should exercise caution and plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.
