City of Batesville Announces Street Closures, Holiday Parade Route

(Batesville, IN) – The City of Batesville, Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Batesville Main Street are co-hosting the 15th Annual Community Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade “Do You Hear What I Hear?” this Friday, December 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Inspiration Park adjacent to George Street.

Several parking lots and streets will be closed:

Thursday, December 4 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 5:

  • Parking lot entrance off Main Street, south side of Total Tech – CLOSED
  • Entrance into parking lot off Main Street, north of Total Tech – CLOSED

Friday, December 5:
3:30 – 8 p.m. George Street CLOSED from Main to Sycamore Street.
3:30 – 8 p.m. NO THRU TRAFFIC – parking lot east of Inspiration Park (Corner of Wash N Dry).
3:30 – 8 p.m. Entrance into parking lot off George Street and entire lot in front of Ken’s Auto – CLOSED.
5 – 8 p.m. No Parking on Main Street, George to Boehringer Street and George Street, and Walnut to Main Street.
6 – 7:15 p.m. Pearl Street (East and West entrances) between Main Street and Park Avenue – CLOSED.
6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Sycamore Street, from George to South Street and George Street from Sycamore to Park Avenue – CLOSED.

PARADE ROUTE AND TIMING:

5 p.m. –  Parade line-up begins at Batesville Middle School
6 p.m. – Parade start -Mulberry Street left onto George Street; left onto Main Street to Boehringer Street; right onto Boehringer; right onto Park Avenue, and right onto Catherine Street (where the Parade will disband).  Santa Claus will be at the end of the Parade. His sleigh will turn right onto George Street and end at Inspiration Park.
