(Brookville, IN) – For the second time in three years, a Brookville man has received the maximum sentence following a felony domestic battery conviction.
Franklin Circuit Judge Alex Dudley sentenced 35-year-old Brandon Ashby to 30 months in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
A jury found Ashby guilty of the charge in October following a two-day trial.
The charge stemmed from an incident on June 28, 2024 in which the victim reported she had been battered and choked by Ashby following an argument. The victim and Ashby were dating at the time. Ashby was arrested that evening and subsequently posted bail.
He was previously convicted of felony domestic battery in October 2022 in a case involving a different victim.
In that case, Franklin Circuit Judge Clay Kellerman also sentenced Ashby to the maximum 30 months in prison. Both the conviction and sentence were later upheld by the Indiana Court of Appeals.
