Second-ranked S0uth Putnam eliminated Milan 40-7 in the Class 1A South Semi-state football championship as heard last night on WRBI. The Indians finish the season with a 7-5 record. The Eagles will face Pioneer in the 1A State Finals next Friday morning at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
In girls basketball last night, Batesville got past Seymour 35-31; Franklin County bested Union County 57-41; and it was South Ripley over Lawrenceburg 49-30.

The Cleveland Cavaliers turned back the Indiana Pacers 120-109 in NBA Cup Group Play last night. Andrew Nembhard led Indiana with 32 points. The Pacers are now 2-14 on the year. They’ll be back in action at home Monday night against the Detroit Pistons.
