The Detroit Pistons rolled over the Indiana Pacers 127-112 in the Motor City in a game heard last night on WRBI. Paskal Siakam led the Pacers with 29 points. Bennedict Mathurin returned to the lineup after sitting out the past week with an injury and added 25. Indiana has lost eight in a row an falls to 1-13, which is the worst record in the NBA. The Pacers will be back in action at home tomorrow night against the Charlotte Hornets.
Purdue reclaims the top spot in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball poll. The Boilermakers leapfrogged Houston, which spent last week at #1. UConn, Arizona and Duke round out the top five.
Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has been suspended by the NFL for one game for spitting on Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey during Sunday’s contest in the Steel City. The league launched an investigation after video was posted of a second in-game altercation between Chase and Ramsey. The latter was ejected from the Steelers’ 34-12 win after he punched Chase. The NFL determined the video showed enough evidence to warrant a one-game suspension for Chase, who denied spitting on Ramsey after Sunday’s contest. Chase is appealing the suspension.
On Monday Night Football, the Dallas Cowboys hammered the Las Vegas Raiders 33-16.
