Chad Bruce, 41 years old of Bright, IN passed away suddenly Monday, November 10, 2025. A proud dad, adoring husband, kindhearted son, and loyal friend, Chad was the kind of person you wanted to know. He had the canny ability to make friends quickly and if he met a stranger, it wasn’t long before they found something in common and were talking like old friends. He enjoyed his cars; his mustang and jeep were prize possessions. Chad was a forever Cincinnati Bengals fan, a great euchre player, and loved being outside. If there was project that needed tackled, he was the guy for the job. He could fix just about anything and if he didn’t know the answer, he certainly wasn’t afraid to jump in and figure it out. A man of many talents, Chad enjoyed playing guitar and singing, mostly southern rock, and was known to perform in front of crowds back in the day.
Amongst all of Chad’s loves, nothing was stronger than the love for his family. Married to Kendra since 2011, his greatest blessings were his two boys. If they were in a sport, Chad was right by their side coaching them. Football and baseball became the family’s favorite pastimes and through which an undeniable bond was created. His dog, Ranger, was also a big part of the family and followed him everywhere. Always true to himself, Chad fought for what he believed in and would tell you like it was. He instilled these core values in his sons on a daily basis.
Chad will be deeply missed by Kendra, his wife of 14 years; sons Brooks and Boone; mom Joyce (Arnold Neeley) Bruce; dad Larry Bruce; sister Abby (William) Burwinkel; mother & father in-law Ken & Connie Darringer, sister and brother in-law Kelly (Jeff) Spencer; nieces and nephews Cooper, Cohen, Quinn, and Billy; lifelong friends Bryan & Kelsey Huber; and many friends, fellow coaches, and student athletes.
Services for Chad will be held on Saturday, November 15 at the Parish Life Center of All Saints Parish in St. Leon. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 1:00pm followed by a church service at 1:30pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic church next door to the Parish Life Center. Burial will immediately follow at Gibson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a fund being set up for Brooks and Boone. Donations will be accepted at the visitation, can be mailed to the funeral home, or made at any Civista location.
