The Cincinnati Reds have claimed catcher Ben Rortvedt off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 28-year-old Rortvedt opened the 2025 season with the Tampa Bay Rays before being traded to Los Angeles as part of a three-team deal that saw the Reds land RHP Zack Littell on July 31. He made his postseason debut as a member of the world-champion Dodgers, appearing in both games of the National League Wild Card Series against the Reds and the first two games of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Originally selected by Minnesota in the second round of the 2016 first-year player draft, Rortvedt has played in parts of 4 Major League seasons with the Twins (2021), New York Yankees (2023), Rays (2024-25), and Dodgers (2025).

The Indiana Hoosiers came away with a 101-70 win over Milwaukee on Wednesday. Head coach Darian DeVries says the Hoosiers had a slow first half, only taking a six-point lead into halftime. He says they were much better in the second half, led by Lamar Wilkerson’s 24 points. Indiana faces Incarnate Word at home on Sunday.
