East Central throttled South Dearborn 86-7 in girls basketball last night. EC led 59-5 at the half. Four Trojans scored in double figures. Natalie Stenger had a game-high 20 points; Kaleigh Meadows and Kelsey Koth both added 11, and Audrina Dugan chipped in 10 for East Central.
Oldenburg Academy welcomes Lawrenceburg to the Feldhaus for girls basketball action tonight. WRBI airtime will be around 7:15.
The Brooklyn Nets won for the first time this year when they knocked off the Indiana Pacers 112-103 in downtown Indianapolis in a game heard last night on WRBI. Trailing 83-80 after three quarters, the Nets opened the 4th on a 13-3 run. Michael Porter poured in a game-high 32 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds. Paskal Siakam led Indiana with 23 points and 10 assists. Both teams are now 1-7. The Pacers begin a four-city western road trip Saturday night in Denver.
The Cincinnati Reds have declined 2026 options on outfielder Austin Hays and relief pitchers Scott Barlow and Brent Suter. All three players are now free agents.
The Reds announced their 2026 Spring Training schedule. They’ll open Cactus League play in Goodyear, Arizona on February 21 against Cleveland.
Men’s college basketball is in full swing around the Hoosier State. Indiana dominated Alabama A & M 98-51 in the Hoosier season opener Wednesday night. Butler blew out Southern Indiana 88-58. Coming up tonight, 0-1 Indiana State hosts Illinois Tech.
The Indianapolis Colts didn’t waste time getting their newest addition on the field. Cornerback Sauce Gardner joined his new teammates on the practice field Wednesday. Gardner is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany if he clears concussion protocol.
