(Decatur/Rush/Henry Counties, IN) – The first in a series of three meetings to consider a Safety Action Plan for the State Road 3 corridor from I-74 to I-70 takes place late this afternoon.
It is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. at Decatur County REMC at 1430 West Main Street in Greensburg.
The other two meetings are set for tomorrow at New Castle Middle School and on Thursday at Love Community Center in Rushville – both from 4-6 p.m.
The impetus behind this is the City of Rushville’s pursuit of a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All planning grant, which would support a Safety Action Plan for partner municipalities in Decatur, Rush, and Henry counties.
The primary goal of the project known as Future 3 is to reduce and eliminate fatalities and serious injuries for all users of State Road 3, including pedestrians and bicyclists.
The meetings are being held to share information about the project with the public and allow those in attendance to ask questions and voice opinions.
