Rita Mae (Holtegel) Roberts, 89, of Versailles passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lawrenceburg. Rita was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1935, in Dillsboro; daughter of Harold and Bessie (Hallgarth) Holtegel. Rita married Ray Roberts, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1998. She worked as a supply clerk at Jefferson Proving Ground. Rita and her husband also had an antique business in Versailles as well. She loved to sew, crochet, quilt, and cooking. Rita also enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping, and going out to eat.
Rita will be missed by her daughter Vicky (Droege) Caviness; grandson Shawn Dilk; and nieces and nephews Becky (Mike) Heller, Bonnie (Nick) Kretler, Brenda Kellenberger, Brad Holtegel, and Brett (Kim) Holtegel.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Bessie Holtegel; husband Ray Roberts; son Michaell Droege; and brothers Norman and Paul Holtegel.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Rita from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Graveside services will follow at Tanglewood Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Rita to Versailles Volunteer Fire Department or The Cincinnati VA Fisher House.
