(Batesville, IN) – The Batesville Police Department has grown by one officer.

Christian Richardson is a 2019 graduate of Franklin County High School.

Upon graduation, he went immediately into the workforce.

He was sworn in last week by Chief Mike Manus.

Richardson will patrol with field training officers until he leaves for the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in January.

Once he graduates, Richardson will go through a three-to-four-month program with one of the department’s certified field training officers.

According to the Batesville Police Department, Richardson enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time at the firearms range in his spare time.
