Frost Advisory, Freeze Watch Issued

(Southeastern IN) – The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, and a Freeze Watch that will be in effect from late Thursday through Friday morning.

Forecasters say temperatures as low as 35 will result in frost formation for the Frost Advisory, mainly in low-lying and valley locations.

For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 are possible.

Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

In addition, frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation, and sensitive outdoor plants could be killed if left uncovered.

You’re urged to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Forecasters say you should also consider draining in-ground sprinkler systems and covering above-ground pipes.
