Charles “Charlie” Dudgeon, 83, of Milan passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at his home with his loving family by his side. Charlie was born on Friday, July 31, 1942, in Aurora; son of Louis and Lucille (Lange) Dudgeon. Charlie married the love of his life, Susan (Huffman) Dudgeon, on July 25, 1970, and she survives him. He worked at Aurora Casket Company for 39 years before later working as a maintenance worker for Milan Community Schools. He was known to be a “master handyman” and loved being outdoors doing hobbies such as landscaping, hunting, and fishing. Charlie also enjoyed spending time bowling and golfing.
Charlie will be missed by his wife Susan Dudgeon of Milan; sons Michael (Misty) Dudgeon of Lafayette and Jason (Heather) Dudgeon of Milan; daughters Stephanie Dudgeon of Seymour and Twanya Hussung of Versailles; grandchildren Abigail Evans, Connor Dudgeon, Gavin, Trevor, and Carissa Newcomb, Robin Disney, Sophia, Simon, and Xavier Dudgeon, Stephanie Hussung and Zachary Hussung, Montana Engelking and Keegan Stover; and great-grandchildren Islah Malone, Brooklyn and Zayden Reed, and Damien Hussung.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Lucille Dudgeon; sisters Ruth Bocock and Lena McAdams; and father-in-law William Huffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will begin at 3:00 PM. Memorials may be given in honor of Charlie to Milan Volunteer Fire Department or Ripley County EMS.
