East Central girls soccer fell to Carmel 2-nil in the IHSAA Class 3A Regional final played last evening on the Greyhounds home pitch. The match was delayed from Saturday when severe weather rolled through the area. The Trojans finish the season at 15-4-1.
The Indiana Hoosiers continue to move up the college football rankings. After their 38-13 win over Michigan State on Saturday, the Hoosiers are at #2 in the AP Top 25 this week. This marks the highest ranking in program history, and puts the Hoosiers second behind Big Ten rival Ohio State…Notre Dame clawed out a 34-24 win over #20 USC Saturday night. The Fighting Irish have moved up to #12 in the AP Poll…UC jumps three spots to #21 following the Bearcats 49-17-win Saturday night at Oklahoma State.
On Monday Night Football, Detroit dumped Tampa Bay 24-9. With the Buccaneers loss, the Indianapolis Colts own the best record in the NFL at 6-1. In the nightcap of the doubleheader, it was Seattle over Houston 27-19.
The Colts are going to be without a member of their front seven. According to ESPN, veteran pass rusher Samson Ebukam is expected to miss multiple weeks after suffering an MCL injury.
The Indiana Pacers have signed Aaron Nesmith to a two-year, $40 million contract extension. Nesmith is going into his sixth year in the league and fourth with the Pacers. He averaged 12 points per game last season during Indiana’s run to the NBA Finals. The Pacers are just two days away from tipping off the regular season against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
