Kregear Announces Candidacy for Franklin County Prosecutor

(Franklin County, IN) – Vincent C. Kregear has announced his candidacy for Franklin County Prosecutor. He plans to file as a Republican for next May’s Primary Election.

“I’m running for Franklin County Prosecutor because our community deserves a justice system that fairly serves and protects its people.” Kregear said. “Every case matters and every victim deserves to be heard. As prosecutor, I will ensure that crimes are taken seriously, cases are handled professionally, and justice is pursued without favoritism or politics.”

Kregear, along with his wife and two boys, has lived in Franklin County for the past six years, and brings a wealth of public service and legal experience to the campaign. A U.S. Navy veteran, Kregear served 10 years as an Electronics Technician before earning a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, and a Juris Doctor from IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis in 2017.

Professionally, Kregear has prosecuted and tried dozens of cases while working as an attorney for the Fayette, Franklin, and Rush County offices of the Department of Child Services, and now operates a private practice where he has represented hundreds of defendants in criminal cases. He also currently serves as Trustee on the Franklin County Library Board of Trustees.

“My priority as prosecutor will be to apply the law fairly, prosecute crimes consistently, and make Franklin County a safer place for families to live and work.” Kregear said. “This office should never be used for personal or political gain. It exists to uphold justice, protect the innocent, and hold offenders accountable.”

Kregear says he is committed to building public trust in the Prosecutor’s Office by focusing on equal treatment of suspects and his willingness to file and pursue charges based on the evidence in each case.

“Franklin County is my home. I believe in this community and its potential,” Kregear said, “With your support, we can establish confidence in the Franklin County justice system, and make sure everyone is treated fairly.”
