South Decatur eliminated Edinburgh in three sets at the Morristown Sectional. Scores were 25-16, 25-22, 25-20. The Cougars move on to Saturday morning’s semifinal match against Tri. The Titans downed Southwestern (Shelby) in three sets.

Coming up tonight, it’s boys soccer regional semifinals. Batesville hosts Charlestown in Class 2A, while Oldenburg Academy takes on Southwestern (Hanover) at Madison in Class 1A. Both matches kick off at 6 p.m.

As the Butler Bulldogs go through fall practices prior to the college basketball season, they are bringing in a familiar face to help the program. Gordon Hayward has been hired as “Executive Basketball Advisor”. Hayward had a long career in the NBA after having played two seasons for Butler in the late 2000s. He helped the Bulldogs to a national championship game appearance in 2010.
