Thomas E. “Gene” Foster, age 81, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday, October 13, 2025 at his residence in Brookville.
Born December 31, 1943 in McCreary County, Kentucky he was the son of the late William & Flonnie Foster. On July 3, 1965, he was united in marriage to the former Lena Mae Smith, and she preceded him in death on September 16, 2008.
Gene was retired, having worked for many years at Diebold in Hamilton, Ohio. In his leisure time he loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, boating, camping.
Survivors include two daughters, Regina Thalheimer and Laura Denise (Jason) Fritz all of Brookville, Indiana; two sons, Tony Dwayne Foster and Rodney Lee (Shannon) Foster all of Brookville; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Foster Payne, two brothers, Larry Foster and Jim Ray Foster; Brother in Law, Johnny Smith and sister-in-law, Brenda (late Dean) Foster.
In addition to his parents, and wife Lena, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaiden R. Griffin, two sisters, Eloise Ross and Bea Foster; three brothers, Bob Foster, Jack Foster, Harold Dean Foster.
Family & friends may visit from 9 until 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Scipio United Baptist Church, 7999 Cincinnati Brookville Road, Okeana, Ohio.
Pastor David Smith will officiate the Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Scipio United Baptist Church. Burial will then follow in Springfield Cemetery in Bath, Indiana.
