(Southeastern IN) – Electric co-ops around the state hosted their annual “Indiana’s Electric Cooperative Community Day” on Friday.
Thirty-two of Indiana’s electric co-ops completed projects that address specific needs within their local communities.
In our area, Southeastern Indiana REMC assembled Co-op Care Kits for three local organizations – Heart House, Safe Passage, and the Salvation Army to distribute as needed.
Decatur County REMC painted dugouts and an outdoor concession stand, and sealed bridges at an outdoor lab at South Decatur Elementary School.
“When cooperatives unite around a common purpose, our impact multiplies,” said John Cassady, CEO of Indiana Electric Cooperatives. “Community Day is about showing what’s possible when we combine our efforts to improve lives across the state.”
