The San Antonio Spurs topped the Indiana Pacers 124-108 in NBA preseason action in downtown Indianapolis heard last night on the Sports Voice. Benedict Mathurin scored 31 points and Pascal Siakam added 17. The Pacers and Spurs wrap up exhibition play when they meet again on Friday in San Antonio.

The Purdue Boilermakers are #1 in the preseason AP Top 25 College Basketball poll for the first time in school history. Last year’s national runner-up Houston is #2, while defending national champion Florida holds the third spot. UConn and St. John’s round out the top five.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been placed on injured reserve. He has a fractured orbital bone in his face following an accident with a warm-up band during pregame before the Colts’ win on Sunday over the Arizona Cardinals. Richardson’s vision is impacted temporarily, but the Colts medical staff says his eye did not sustain long-term damage. He’ll miss the next four games. Rookie Riley Leonard out of Notre Dame becomes the Colts backup QB behind Daniel Jones. Cornerback Charvarius Ward also missed the game with a concussion during pregame warmups. He suffered the concussion when he collided with tight end Drew Ogletree on accident. Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen addressed both incidents on Monday. “Yeah, I mean, it’s definitely something that’ll probably be discussed. But like I said, I mean it was – they were two just freak accidents that you can’t explain. So yeah, just praying for a speedy recovery for both of those guys,” said Steichen.

On Monday Night Football, Atlanta downed Buffalo 24-14 in the opener of the doubleheader, and Chicago slipped past Washington in the nightcap, 25-24.
