Charles Lee “Charlie” Wilburn, 72, of Milan passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. Charlie was born on Friday, June 5, 1953, in Aurora; son of William “Bud” Wilburn and JoAnn (Scott) Wilburn. He worked in maintenance at Southeastern Career Center for 11 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and go kart racing with his grandchildren. Charlie was a devoted grandfather and could always be found supporting his grandchildren at their wrestling, football, baseball, and volleyball events. Charlie dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Charlie will be missed by his sons Adrian (Dennise) Wilburn of Sunman, Travis Wilburn of Pierceville, and Justin (Trisha) Derringer of Lancaster; daughter Danielle (Dustin) Baylor of Milan; brothers Donald (Thanglo) Wilburn of California and Tim (Karen) Wilburn of Osgood; sister Barbara (Frank) Haugh of Milan; grandchildren Tyler (Tanner) Wilburn, Zack Wilburn, Kaleb Wilburn, Kelsey (Eben) Wilburn, Justin Wilburn, Matthew Baylor, Mason Baylor, and MaKenleigh Baylor; great-granddaughter Kennedy Wilburn; and special friends Carlyn (Alan Archer) Wilburn of Vevay and Roy (Donna) Adams of Middletown.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Bud and JoAnn Wilburn and grandchild Race David Wilburn.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Chalie from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will immediately follow with Pastor Chad Schwering officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Charlie to Milan Wrestling.
