It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Phillip A. Mortashed, affectionately known as Phil, who departed from this life on September 29, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on October 15, 1968, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Phil was a proud graduate of William Henry Harrison High School.

Phil dedicated much of his life to his work as a boilermaker for the Union. His commitment and skills in his trade earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional endeavors, Phil had a passionate spirit that shined brightly through the many interests he pursued. He cherished riding motorcycles and found joy in the open road.

Phil was a devoted family man, and his love for his family was immeasurable. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Mortashed, whom he married on August 10, 2023. Together, they shared a bond that exemplified love and partnership. Phil is also survived by his father, Michael “Mike” Mortashed, and his mother, Bethany “Beth” Mortashed. He took great pride in being a father to his daughter, Sara Mortashed, and his son, Ryan Mortashed, born as twins. His brothers, Wayne Mortashed and Shannon Mortashed, and two nieces, McKayla Mortashed and Regan (Mortashed) Cross, will all carry forward his cherished memory.

Phil was deeply connected to his roots, and he held a special place in his heart for the United States Veterans, dedicating his support and efforts in honor of those who served. He will be remembered not only for his remarkable spirit and dedication but also for the love she shared with his loyal canine companion, “Hank,” who remained by his side through thick and thin.
