The Batesville Middle School cross country team travelled to Greensburg for the EIAC meet Monday evening.
The girls stepped to the line first and were ready to run. Eighth grader Ana Shane once again led the team, finishing 2nd overall. Also placing in the top 15 and making the All-Conference team were Emmalynn Allgeier in 4th place while Bailey Feldmann was 6th, Aubrey Kruthaupt 7th, Lila Wade 9th, and Addi Fogle 11th. Eisley Peters rounded out the varsity team with a 17th place finish. The Lady Dogs were able to bring home the conference trophy scoring an impressive 27 points. Greensburg was 2nd with 59 points while Benjamin Rush was 3rd with 81 points.
Several BMS boys also made the All-Conference team including Cael Luhman with a 7th place finish, Wyatt Essick in 10th, and Jayden Fogle in 12th. Additional runners placing for the Bulldogs and earning ribbons were Timothy Quillin in 16th place, Cristian Peralta in 17th, Luke Raver in 18th, and Duncan Fish in 23rd. The boys finished a very respectable third place with a total of 62 points, coming in just behind Connersville with 56 points, and the conference champs Greendale with 35 points.
The JV runners also had an excellent night coming home with ribbons across the board. Both the boys and girls JV races were won by Bulldogs. Congratulations to Arie Obermeyer and Nathaniel Fuentes on being crowned the JV race champions.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday as we host the Ripley County meet at the home course at Batesville High School at 5 p.m.
